From the East

Greetings all,

July has been a great month with the upgrades in the lodge moving along and looking good under the direction of Bro. Ed Ciofani.  And the TWO new candidates coming on board.  The first one received his E.A. Degree on July 25, and Bro SW Hamilton conducted a very very good Degree, along with our full compliment of officers.  The next candidate will receive his E.A. Degree on Aug. 8 at our next scheduled meeting.  I strongly urge all available to attend and support our new candidates, and your officers of our great Lodge.  And don't forget about the new membership contest, don't let someone else win the 2012 dues when you could have been the first line signer for new members.

The Aug 22 Meeting will be Another Wives (or others) Night at the Lodge.

Plans are still moving ahead for our B B Q on September 17th. B B Q , Band , Bounce house , Child I.D. If you would like to help out, please contact ANY Lodge officer.

I know that we have many snowbirds in our lodge, but we also have a good number of full time residents that could be attending our meetings.  And I encourage everyone to come and enjoy the fellowship and joy on being a Mason in today's world.  We need to keep our tenets and the obligations we took close to our hearts and minds.

Be safe, be good, stay healthy.

Larry Newton
Worshipful Master

From The West

Greetings Brothers,

July has been a very busy month for Noah 357.   The Officers have been practicing the E A degree and all has been going very well.  Brother Jim Hamilton, our Junior Warden, is sitting Master for the E A degree, and has already pulled off one fine degree on Monday the 25th making Jeffery Tumbarello an Entered Apprentice and a Brother.  With another E A degree just around the corner scheduled for August 8, 2011.

Work around the Lodge room and building has been coming along nicely, many thanks to all the workers and Brothers involved.  New walls in the dining area, new carpet coming in the Lodge Room to compliment the new tile around the Altar .  The new double doors in the dining hall make entering so much nicer, the others were a little over due.

September 17, 2011 - Mark your calendars for the Child ID program coming to Noah 357 with the help of Punta Gorda Lodge #115.  Brother Bob Sabo will be working closely with Punta Gorda Lodge to learn the operation of the equipment.  If you are good with electronics and like working with the public see Brother Sabo.  We have many other activities planned for this day in conjunction with the Child ID Program.  With Noah getting busy we sure could use a little extra help here and there, Brothers.  But really we would like to just have you visit us.

On July 18, 2011 every chair at our Monday EA practice was filled, practice went very well we have another practice coming up on Monday, August 1, 2011,  with an Entered Apprentice degree on Monday August 8, 2011.  In the recent EA Degree, Brother Jim Hamilton did a beautiful job of presenting the work to the candidate.  All the Brothers from the Junior Steward right on up - every Brother did an excellent job.  That was a degree that had to be seen, I can only wait to see the next.  Brothers, come out and join us for Lodge, for our degrees, for our Child ID. Because Brother, its YOUR Lodge, Your  degree and Your Child ID Program.  Great job, Brothers.

Lawrence A. Tomlinson,
Senior Warden.

Observing the time

Greetings Brothers,
com·mu·ni·cate [kuh-myoo-ni-keyt] verb, -cat·ed, -cat·ing.
1. to impart (knowledge) or exchange (thoughts, feelings, or ideas) by speech, writing, gestures, etc.
2. to give or interchange thoughts, feelings, information, or the like, by writing, speaking, etc.: They communicate with each other every day.
3. Archaic . to share in or partake of.

Communication has been the primary function of Free Masonry from the beginning and our Communications whether "Grand, Stated or Called" provide us the opportunity to impart knowledge, exchange thoughts, feelings, or ideas and to share in the fellowship of our Brothers.  The Trestleboard is an equally important form of communication and whether it's posted on an easel for the craftsman to view, delivered by hand, post or electronic media, it serves it's purpose only if we are willing to seek out it's message.

As the science of communications continues to evolve and the options available to us become limitless two things will remain. The message of Freemasonry will always be worth communicating and only those with a desire for knowledge will seek it.

** NOTE** In addition to and excellent website
www.noahlodge357.org we now also have a Facebook page at Noah Lodge 357 F&A.M.

Question: What does this symbol have to do with Masonic history? (Hint) Green, Party

From The Secretary's Desk

At the end of June, I mailed out 23 late notices.  So far I have received five (5) responses.

We are planning a Bar B Que for September and we DO need help.

If you have not been to Lodge lately, you'll be surprised at the renovations done by Brother Ed Ciofani and his crew of workers.

Hope to see you at Lodge.

Fraternally,
Jerry Keeton
Secretary

Lazy Days of Summer

My Brothers,

Giving credit to our Northern friends and Brothers, when they are here for the winter many of them do volunteer wrok at their Church, Lodge, soup kitchen, Meals on Wheels and other places.  Now they are back up north, the workers in the vineyard and the laborers in the quarry are few, but the need is still just as great.

Can we spare two or three hours a week and fill in until they return?  I know some charity would welcome you and you will enjoy doing it.  Rejoice in doing good work and be thankful unto God we are able to do it.

Good things are happening at Noah Lodge, come and find out what those good things are.  Come and enjoy the fellowship.

May God bless you every day in every way.

John McKinney
Chaplain
